Woman Watches Safety Video, Rents Gun, Kills Self at Gun Range

According to police, the unidentified woman entered Applied Ballistics Indoor Shooting Range in Lafayette where she rented the gun and then shot herself once in the head. The woman was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Police say surveillance video left no doubt that the woman committed suicide.

According to a member of the shooting range, anyone who rents a gun at the range must undergo a safety course first.

Lafayette police officer Sgt. Mike Brown confirmed that the woman had watched the 20-minute safety video prior to taking her own life.

Police have yet to release her name.

Woman Kills Lover’s Wife and Self on Interstate 20

It all began Wednesday afternoon when neighbors of Barnett said they spotted a black Dodge Durango outside of the teacher’s home. The neighbors became suspicious because Barnett had recently replaced the lock on her gate to her backyard after believing that someone had tampered with the latch.

Clayton County police said they believe that the girlfriend of Barnett’s husband was the kidnapper.

According to the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, deputies spotted the Durango around noon on Thursday at a truck stop on I-20 near the Waco exit, and a chase ensued.

The driver led officers heading west on Interstate 20 through Carroll and Haralson counties. When the chase crossed state lines, the Alabama State Patrol joined in.

The chase continued to mile marker 208 where the vehicle stopped suddenly while being pursued. According to Clayton County authorities, the suspect reached into the back of the car, retrieved a gun and shot Barnett before turning the gun on herself.

Teen Kills Brother, Wounds Another over Food

The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office received a call about the shooting at 6:19 p.m. local time in the city of Hudson, some 45 miles (72 km) north of Tampa, the office said in a statement.

The three brothers were squabbling over dinner, the statement said, when the 13-year-old grabbed a handgun and shot his two brothers before killing himself. The children were home alone at the time.

The older brother was taken to a hospital and his injuries were not considered life-threatening, the statement said. The names of the children were not released by authorities.

The Times said that the children’s mother was at work and a fourth son, who is 18-years-old, was not at the house.

Further details were not immediately available.

UPDATE: 6 Dead, 3 Wounded, Gunman AT LARGE in Pennsburg Area Found Dead

Bradley William Stone, a former Marine reservist, had been on the run since Monday’s slayings shook small communities north of Philadelphia.

His body was found in a wooded area about 1/2 mile from his home in Pennsburg, said Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman. It was not immediately clear how long the remains had been there.

Although a final report from the coroner is pending, Stone appears to have died from self-inflicted cutting wounds, in the center of his body, according to Ferman.

Early Monday morning, a hangup call to 911 first tipped off police to the bloodshed, directing them to Lansdale, 28 miles northwest of Philadelphia.

When police arrived, they found two slain women: Stone’s former mother-in-law and former grandmother-in-law, Ferman said.

A short time later, a neighbor of Stone’s ex-wife called 911, the prosecutor explained. Police went to an apartment in Lower Salford and found 33-year-old Nicole Stone dead.

“I heard three or four gunshots and I heard the kids yelling, saying, ‘Mommy, no. No, mommy, no.’ And he just said, ‘Let’s go. We gotta go,'” a neighbor who did not want to be identified told CNN affiliate WFMZ. “I heard him say, ‘Let’s go. We gotta get in the car.'”

“They didn’t have any coats on or anything,” the neighbor said. “They just had their pajamas on, and he just said, ‘We gotta go.’ He was like, ‘She’s hurt. She’s hurt pretty bad. We have to leave.’ And just got in the car and sped off.”

But Stone didn’t harm his two daughters, who were living with his former wife. At about 5:30 a.m., he brought them to a neighbor’s residence in Pennsburg, according to Ferman.

The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office said police are looking for 35-year-old Bradley William Stone, of Pennsburg, in the killings. Three others were seriously wounded, officials said.

All of the victims have a “familial relationship” to Stone, prosecutors said. The victims were not identified further.

The hunt for Stone has moved to Pennsburg after a siege in Souderton ended without taking a suspect into custody.

Montgomery County court records also show Stone had been entangled in protracted divorce proceedings with his wife, Nicole A. Stone, since early 2009. The divorce was finalized in December 2012. Less than two weeks ago, he filed an emergency motion for custody.

“the start of the revolution”: 5 Dead at WalMart Shooting, Including Gunmen in Suicide Pact [UPDATE}

Five people — including two Metro police officers — are dead in a shootout late Sunday morning in the northeast part of the valley.

The officers were shot at Cici’s Pizza, 309 N. Nellis Blvd. about 11:35 a.m. One died at the scene and the other died latter at UMC.

The suspects apparently had a suicide pact and said something about “the start of the revolution” before they shot the officers.

They took the officers weapons and left the restaurant.

The suspects then headed south to Walmart, 201 N. Nellis Blvd., and killed a person in the store.

They went to the back northwest corner of the store, according to radio calls, and told some shoppers that they wanted to have a shootout with Metro.

With the store surrounded by Metro officers and SWAT units, the two suspects took their lives.

UPDATE: “Gunmen” was not accurate. And it is no surprise to me tat these 2 were white supremacists, and that white supremacists are among the asshats clustered ideologically and physically around that liar and welfare cheat, Cliven Bundy.

Details are sketchy, but Metropolitan Police Department sources close to the investigation say the shooters shouted that “this is the start of a revolution” before opening fire on the officers, and draped their bodies with cloth showing a Revolutionary War-era flag. Investigators have also found paraphernalia associated with white supremacists.

Sunday night, Metro homicide investigators and FBI agents cordoned off and were searching a small apartment complex at 110 S. Bruce St., about four miles from the shooting scene. A resident of the complex said he had spoken with a man who lived in the apartment being searched. He said the man appeared “militant,” and often talked about conspiracy theories.

An explosion was heard at the apartment complex at about 9:30 p.m., but no information was immediately available Sunday night.

Sheriff Doug Gillespie said officers Alyn Beck, 41, and Igor Soldo, 31, were shot while they ate lunch at CiCi’s Pizza, 309 N. Nellis Blvd., at about 11:20 a.m. Sunday.

…A law enforcement official who has been briefed on the incident said an officer — unconfirmed reports indicate it was Soldo — was refilling a soft drink when the female shooter approached him from behind and shot him in the head, killing him instantly.

The woman then shot the other officer several times as he drew his pistol. Gillespie said the officer was able to return fire but it was unclear if he hit anyone.

…Witnesses told police one of the shooters yelled “This is the start of a revolution” before shooting the officers. Gillespie later said he could not confirm that.

The shooters then stripped the officers of their weapons and ammunition and badges, according to a law enforcement official with knowledge of the investigation. They then covered the officers with something that featured the Gadsden flag, a yellow banner with a coiled snake above the words, “Don’t tread on Me.”

…As Metro officers entered the front and back doors of the store they exchanged gunfire with the shooters, Gillespie said.

The female shooter then shot her accomplice at least once before shooting herself in the head, a law enforcement official said. The wounded man then shot and killed himself. Their identities have not been released by police.

…The shooters were a married couple thought to be in their late 20s who were new to the Las Vegas Valley, according to a law enforcement official close to the investigation. Police are looking into their links to the white supremacy movement and found swastika symbols during their initial investigation.

Residents of the Bruce Street apartment complex gathered outside the building to talk about the couple whose unit was being searched.

Several neighbors identified the man as Jared, while one called the woman Amanda.

Like many of the neighbors contacted, Krista Koch said she didn’t know the couple’s last names. She described them as “militant.” They talked about planning to kill police officers, “going underground” and not coming out until the time was right to kill.

…“The man told Monroe he had been kicked off Cliven Bundy’s ranch 80 miles northeast of Las Vegas while people from throughout the U.S. gathered there in protest of a Bureau of Land Management roundup of Bundy’s cattle.” Jessica Anderson, 27, said. She lived next door.

CEO Commits Suicide with Nail Gun

Richard Talley, 57, and the company he founded in 2001 were under investigation by state insurance regulators at the time of his death late Tuesday, an agency spokesman confirmed Thursday.

It was unclear how long the investigation had been ongoing or its primary focus.

A coroner’s spokeswoman Thursday said Talley was found in his garage by a family member who called authorities. They said Talley died from seven or eight self-inflicted wounds from a nail gun fired into his torso and head.

Also unclear is whether Talley’s suicide was related to the investigation by the Colorado Division of Insurance, which regulates title companies.

Woman Commits Suicide in Front of Police

New Orleans Police officers received a call about 8 a.m. from a man who said his wife was threatening to commit suicide at their home in the 2800 block of Laurel Street, Officer Garry Flot said.

When police arrived on the scene, Flot said, they found the woman standing in the driveway and spoke with her briefly.

At some point in the conversation the woman walked over to a van and took out a handgun. The officers then ordered the woman to drop the weapon, Flot said.

“As the officers were retreating from the situation they heard a gun being fired,” Flot said, adding that one of the officers then fired one shot.

The woman died on the scene.
